Geoform Tree Fall

Definition Tree falls are trees or woody parts that have sunk to the deep ocean floor (generally 2,000 meters or deeper) and may remain there for decades. They are colonized by a specialized group of wood-boring organisms such as xylophaga (a bivalve) and several crustaceans. Tree falls also support a suite of predators and scavengers.
